MIND YOUR MANNERS: In a recent article to the Arkansas Gazette-Democrat (Demise of Manners). the article said that manners don't seem to mean much any more.. Mama always said: " mind your manners Son, and always be nice". So I always try to do just that. She also said, "Get a Dog going down hill and everybody kicks at him"., and I think was right about that. . She also said; "Cheaters never win". She could have been wrong about that. My Daddy taught me manners also. During the Roosevelt New Deal, he was the only registered Republican in our County. He has been gone a long time now , but I think that in the next election he at least deserves a mail in ballot.
Anyway, as the Writer said in the article, "manners don't seem to mean anything anymore", so I mind my manners and try to adjust to changes as they occur over time. For example; now someone can decide to identify as the opposite sex and proceed through life in the new gender. At 89, I don't think I want to change my sex, but I was thinking about changing my race. I didn't know until a recent Supreme Court ruling hat I was born in the Muskogee Creek Nation. In our small town of 420 where I grew up, everyone was Scotch-Irish, Indian, or Scotch-Irish-Part Indian.
Anyway, since Senator Warren was born in Oklahoma and used her high cheek-bones as a qualification to be Indian, I think since I was born in the Muskogee-Creek Nation, I should be qualified to be a full blood Creek. They have a lot more money now, they spend it for the benefit of the community, they mind their manners and walk kindly upon the earth, and that's a good thing...
While I am hesitant to give up Scotch-Irish-Part Indian, it might help the "Be less White movement". Although, I will miss all those White Privileges...
